Canmore Alberta Mountain Wedding
It snowed in the morning, rained all day, and was foggy through-out, Yet guess what.. this was the most perfect mountain wedding in Canmore Alberta for the two of the best people, Trevor and Deanna.
The day started at The Blackstone Lodge as the two spent the morning getting ready in separate rooms. Everyone was warm hearted and love flowed through the hotel. Before Deanna had her make up done, we read a letter that Trevor had written for her. We don’t know what it said, but I think you can get a good idea from the photos that there were a lot of lovely words filling those pages. As Deanna’s mom had the pleasure of adding the final touch to the morning with a gorgeous head piece that had been passed down through her family, we then headed to Quarry Lake Park for the ceremony.
As though this ceremony location couldn’t get any more stunning, The mountains decided to show themselves through the clouds as things had gotten started. I could shoot this scene day after day, Deanna walking through the field with her dad as they made their way down the isle and witnessing Trevor see his bride for the first time of the day was beyond amazing. These two said I do and had their first kiss surrounded by a gorgeous forest line backed by mountains.
There was zero way that we were going to let a little rain, or a lot, change our photo plans. We grabbed the umbrellas and adventured around the blue Quarry Lake with the wedding party. Afterwards as everyone went to dry off in the cars, I grabbed the couple and we hid out from the rain in the forest where we found a lot of beautiful light to celebrate being married in. We then drove to an old railway bridge that was over the bluest river that I had ever seen. Photographing a love like this, at a place like that.. Well I was one stoked photographer. I definitely put my camera gear to the weather proof test as I watched the water drip off of it through-out the day, Yet it was all so very well worth capturing these two.
We dried off and arrived at the Cornerstone Theatre for a rustic reception that suited the day perfectly. From darling decor made by themselves and family, to a delicious buffet, this was an evening to remember. Heart filled speeches along with a lot of laughs brought the evening to night. Trevor and Deanna then had a first dance to die for underneath the drape lights. The Rock n Roll – Rockibilly band Sam Spades then kicked off the evening which was soon to be an unreal night filled with awesome music and a lot of dancing!
Trevor and Deanna, I by far can’t thank you both enough for choosing me to photograph your special day in Canmore. Secondly, A huge thank you to everyone I had met from family to friends of the couple for making me feel like home throughout the whole weekend. You are all so awesome! Now let’s look back at a perfect day!
